Authentication
Authorize requests with a private API key tied to your JEMSU account.
Create a key
- Sign in to the Developer page.
- An active paid subscription is required for key creation and video generation.
- Create a key, copy it when shown and save it in your server’s secret storage.
- Send it in the Authorization header.
Authorization: Bearer $JEMSU_API_KEY
Keys begin with jem_live_. The account can have up to 10 keys. A key reads only its owner’s jobs, saved styles and credit balance.
Check the connection
curl --fail-with-body https://app.jemsu.ai/api/v1/credits \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $JEMSU_API_KEY"
Rotate or revoke
Create a replacement key, update the server environment, confirm a credit-balance request works, then revoke the old key on the Developer page. If a key is exposed, revoke it promptly.
Handle authentication failures
| Response | Action |
|---|---|
| 401 invalid_api_key | Check the Bearer header, key value and revocation state. |
| 402 subscription_required | Restore an active paid subscription. Paused, past-due, canceled and trialing subscriptions do not qualify for API video creation. |
Keep API keys out of front-end JavaScript, screenshots, prompts, public repositories and URLs. Configure a separate key for each integration so it can be revoked independently.
